Jeff and his wife Kim have been married for 40 years and reside in Pigeon, Michigan. Both are Laker High School graduates and Jeff is a graduate of Michigan State University.
Jeff and Kim have two grown children, daughter Joy who teaches 2nd grade at Laker Elementary in Pigeon. Joy is married to Steve McIntosh who is also a teacher at Laker High School. Joy and Steve reside in Pigeon and have 2 sons, Evan and Cooper and 1 daughter, Lily. Son Troy is employed by Schupan and Sons and he lives in the Kalamazoo area.
Jeff retired from Pioneer Hi-Bred International in 2011 where he was an Account Manager for 25 years. His responsibilities included the support and training of a highly engaged Sales Rep team, life cycle management of the product line, agronomic service and support, ensuring integrity of the brand, etc. Jeff especially enjoyed frequent interactions with the customers that he served in his territory.
Jeff joined Michigan Farm Bureau Insurance in December of 2011 and served as a Managing Partner for the 8 county Bay Thumb Region where he supported a team of Trusted Advisors through training, problem solving, and business planning. Because of his strong agricultural knowledge, Jeff was able to interface well with ag clients many of which are Michigan Farm Bureau members. Jeff retired from Farm Bureau Insurance on February 1, 2019.
Outside of his work life, Jeff is very involved in Rotary International, both at the local club level and also at the district level where he’s held several leadership positions. At the local level Jeff’s held the position of Club President, Secretary, Sargent, Youth Exchange Officer and has chaired several committees. At the District level Jeff has served as Short-term Youth Exchange Chair, District Trainer, Membership Chair, and Assistant Governor (twice). Jeff has served on several boards, to include the Michigan FFA Foundation. He also served as Board Treasurer for Bay Shore Camp and Family Ministries located in Sebewaing and was a Board member of the local NAIFA (National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors) chapter. Jeff is an active member at Salem United Methodist Church where he serves as worship leader and sings in the choir.
In their spare time Jeff and Kim enjoy traveling, hiking, gardening, skiing, snowshoeing and spending time with family, friends and especially their grandsons.
